Municipality of Gotse Delchev
Gotse Delchev municipality is located in the Southwest Bulgaria with 11 settlements close to the town and population of more than 32 thousand. The municipality develops and offers many different types of social services, supports educational institutions, conducts a systematic policy for support and development. The policy includes efforts for development of all spheres of public life – education, health, economy, as well as appropriate infrastructure for development of the economy and support of any kind of entrepreneurship, including social entrepreneurship.

There is an increasing need to focus on development of accessibility of knowledge and further promoting innovation. Also, the municipality promotes business development, skills acquisition, mentoring and crossborder cooperation. In that context, the municipality has been implementing mentoring and support for informal learning from youth workers towards youth with creating a Youth Center – Gotse Delchev. Apart from that, the municipality is also focusing on equal opportunities and accessibility for all by providing support services, conducting training and improving their access to employment with different projects, financed by national or European funds.

Role in the Generation Infinity project
As the coordinating organisation, the Municipality of Gotse Delchev is responsible for the strategic, administrative and financial management of Generation Infinity. It oversees Project Managemet activities and ensures that all partners adhere to the agreed budgets and timelines.
Drawing on its long experience in social-service innovation, the municipality mobilises local networks of senior citizens and adult education providers, thereby anchoring the project in a real-life community that is already prioritising reskilling and upskilling for an ageing population. The municipality also organises and schedules WP2 activities, hosting the first transnational meeting in Bulgaria and coordinating survey logistics, to ensure that the gap analysis and trainer framework are delivered on time and to specification. By linking European-level outputs to municipal policy and service provision, the Municipality of Gotse Delchev acts as a channel through which the results of the project will be piloted, adopted and maintained at a local level. This will ensure that the benefits of digital inclusion reach citizens long after the project has ended.
