WP2 has a two-fold purpose:

Mobilise the messengers. Drawing on that evidence, it will craft and pilot a Train-the-Trainers suite that lifts educators’ confidence and equips them with age-sensitive methods for teaching digital skills to seniors.

Map the landscape. It will deliver the first EU-level snapshot of older adults’ digital readiness, safety concerns and learning preferences in all five partner countries.

Phase 1 – Digital Readiness Mapping

A mixed-methods study will be implemented, combining large-scale questionnaires with focus-group discussions involving seniors, trainers, employers and public-sector representatives. The resulting dataset will inform two principal deliverables:

Feasibility Report and Gap Analysis — a comprehensive account of the competencies most urgently required by older learners, the systemic barriers they encounter, and priority issues related to online safety;

Country Case-Study Booklet — concise, policy-oriented chapters that translate the empirical findings into actionable insights for national stakeholders.

Phase 2 – Trainer Empowerment Programme

Building directly upon the Phase 1 evidence, partners will design a seven-module Train-the-Trainers Framework covering pedagogy, digital ageism, everyday e-tools, cyber-security, hybrid delivery, assessment and inclusive design. The prototype framework will be piloted in a face-to-face workshop, allowing a selected cohort of educators to validate content, refine methodology and assume the role of dissemination ambassadors.

Phase 3 – Consolidation and Dissemination

All WP2 resources will be translated into the languages of the consortium, ensuring broad accessibility. A series of national webinars will subsequently familiarise at least sixty additional senior-education professionals with the framework, thereby expanding the emerging community of practice.

Key Results

  • Feasibility Report and Gap Analysis;
  • Country Case-Study Booklet;
  • Multilingual Train-the-Trainers Framework;
  • Pilot Workshop Report and Webinar Series materials.

Impact

WP2 will convert subjective assumptions into empirically grounded knowledge and transform that knowledge into practical capacity-building instruments. The deliverables will guide subsequent work packages, particularly those focusing on curriculum development and platform design, while fostering a transnational network of trainers dedicated to promoting safe and inclusive digital participation among older citizens.
