Ljudska univerza Celje is a public institution for adult education with roots dating back to 1921, marking the beginning of organized adult education in Celje. The institution, as it is known today, was officially established in 1997.

Ljudska univerza Celje envisions its purpose and mission as a cutting-edge educational center capable of keeping pace with the latest educational advancements. Its goal is to offer lifelong learning opportunities to people of all ages. The institution provides a wide range of both formal and non-formal educational programs. Among the most popular non-formal programs are foreign language courses (covering both general and professional language) and various workshops, such as those focusing on accounting, rhetoric, communication, and personal and business development. Computer courses are also in high demand.
The main focus of Ljudska univerza Celje lies in fostering personal and professional growth and promoting excellence in both individual and workplace contexts. Recognizing the vast potential of lifelong learning, the institution has developed numerous educational programs over the years to cater to a broad target audience, from youth to senior citizens.

Role in the Generation Infinity project
Ljudska Univerza Celje acts as Generation Infinity’s linguistic and community engagement hub. It is responsible for reviewing, fine-tuning and fully translating the Feasibility Report, Country Case-Study Booklet and Train-the-Trainers framework. Ljudska univerza Celje draws on its extensive network of senior learners and intergenerational programmes to recruit participants for pilot activities, support functionality testing of the digital platform and host Slovenia’s national multiplier event to showcase results and stimulate local uptake.
Team Members
Elvedina Jupić is an English teacher who combines her passion for education with extensive experience in international projects like Erasmus+, Norway Grants, CERV, and many national initiatives. She focuses on integrating digital tools into education, especially to support older participants who may face challenges in adapting to new technologies. Her involvement in the national project Digital Teacher has helped her develop advanced digital skills, which she now applies effectively in her work. With her approachable attitude and adaptability, Elvedina plays a key role in creating a more digitally inclusive society.
Metka Arnšek is a history teacher and the head of educational programs at the Adult Education Center Celje, where she focuses on designing and managing learning opportunities for adults. She has participated in numerous Erasmus+ projects, gaining valuable experience in working with diverse groups of learners. Metka has also proven herself in the field of digital transformation in education, as demonstrated by her active involvement in the Digital Teacher project. Her strong leadership, organizational skills, and dedication to lifelong learning make her a driving force behind initiatives that aim to bring the digital world closer to older generations.
